• Definition: Underwater buoyancy materials, generally referring to solid buoyancy materials, are solid compounds obtained through physical and chemical reactions. They are composed of inorganic lightweight filler materials filled into organic polymer materials.

• Characteristics: These materials typically have a low density, usually ranging from 0.20 - 0.7 g/cm³. They also exhibit a low water absorption rate, not exceeding 3%. Moreover, they possess high mechanical strength, with a compressive strength between 1 - 100 MPa. Additionally, they are corrosion - resistant and can be subjected to secondary machining.
