The difference between single jacket fire hose and double jacket fire hose is the number of jackets over the hose liner. A double jacket fire hose has an additional jacket for added durability.

Double Jacket Fire Hose primarily used by municipal fire departments on the fire apparatus and during heavy industrial applications. It highly resists abrasion and withstands repeated high pressures than other hoses, very strong and durable, but also flexible.
